“Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength.”
- Dalai Lama
In our assemblies this half term we are exploring the value of compassion. On Monday, we thought about what the word compassion means to us in everyday life. We thought about putting others first, making a difference and being sensitive to suffering. We then set ourselves the challenge of trying to notice the needs of other people around us, even when we are busy ourselves.
Just in case you missed it……big congratulations to the Hale and Hyde choir who won the Salisbury Radio song for Christmas competition 2024 with their song ‘The First Noel’. Last Friday they were visited by Andy Munns from Salisbury radio in Celebration assembly at Hale and were presented with the trophy and £250 of book tokens. Well done Miss Ray for such an achievement. We are so lucky to have you leading our choir.
Good attendance at school is really important to us. If your child’s attendance drops below 90% you will always be notified so that you are aware. From August 2024, in a bid to discourage repeat absences and families taking holidays during term time, the penalty notice for parents whose child has unauthorised absences increased. We will be sending out some updated information about this next week so that you are all fully informed before you decide to book a family holiday during term time. Please don’t forget that you can keep an eye on your child’s attendance via Arbor too.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
